Preserving brass high shine

I have purchased an apartment in NYC and all the plates and hardware are solid brass from 1927. After stripping off the paint, and polishing the brass to a high shine, I have the need to seal off the brass such that it will not tarnish or discolor. What can I do or what services are available to do this.
