Phosphatizing in place of dioctyl sebacate coating

What is the purpose of dioctyl sebacate coating on aluminium closure stock? Will the phosphatising serve the purpose of DOS also? We are in manufacturing of aluminium rolled product for various applications. Thanks for the response.

Sebaceous, fatty material sebacic acid - a crystalline dicarboxylic acid, C10H18O4, used especially in the manufacture of synthetic resins. Your coating must be used for some kind of protection against corrosive agents. A waxy organic coating may or may not be equivalent to a phosphate conversion coating; it depends on the environment. Please tell us more about the application.
