Language translations terms: Surface finishing, chemicals, abrasives

Q. I'm doing a translation for a plating company. I hope my e-mail is appropriate for this forum. I have a few terminology questions:
- Is surface finishing the same as surface processing?
- I keep seeing what looks like "plating (plated) chemicals." Does the sentence, "We manufacture surface finishing chemicals" sound normal?
- Does "print( or printing) wiring board finishing chemicals" sound like a normal product?
- Are abrasive powder and base coat powder used? Or do abrasives and base coatings sound more natural?

1. Surface finishing looks not the same as surface processing.
2.plating chemicals are chemicals for plating. Many plating chemicals are proprietary, meaning special formulation of mixing different chemicals. In that sense"manufacture surface finishing chemicals" is often said by proprietaries suppliers.
3.Yes. There are many proprietary chemicals used in Printed Wiring Board(Printed Circuit Board) fabrication.
4.Abrasive powders have different sizes for different finishes. Should use "abrasive powder" instead of general term abrasive;Base coat powders is usually used to mean low or no solvent base coat powder instead of organic liquid coating.
