Coating stainless steel

We are attempting to use a cyanoacrylate adhesive to bond a stainless steel part to a rubber part. The glue will not adhere to the stainless steel. I would like to know if anyone has a suggestion regarding coating the stainless steel with an aluminum rich coating (ARC) in order to accomplish this.

Try using a glue called Sicomet. I used it successfully to bond stainless steel to rubber.

Our company is trying to do the same thing, bond rubber to a 17-7 stainless steel and we're having mixed results. We're using a chemlok 205 primer with a 250 adhesive. We're cleaning with methyl ethyl ketone ⇦ on eBay or Amazon [affil link] .

If you find anything else that works well, please pass it along.

Thanks and good luck.

Sorry! Finishing.com is temporarily Read-Only.
Ted Mooney is retiring but I have several offers to take it over.
We're working hard to make sure we find it the best new home.
