Heat dissipation and protection of a galvanized roof



 

My house have a galvanized roof and I would like to:

1-Paint it with a paint that can help dissipate the heat.

2-Paint last longer.

3-Know the best way to paint it, due to is a waive form surface.

Hi, Ismael. There are ceramic paints and white paints which can reduce the thermal load. However, getting good adhesion to galvanized metal is usually an issue. I would suggest scrubbing the roof with a brush and trisodium phosphate [on eBay or Amazon], then wiping with vinegar [in bulk on eBay or Amazon], then applying a latex Galvanized Metal Primer [affil links] before applying any top coat.
