Information about galvanizing surface defect




 

I want some information about surface defect on zinc coated surface after galvanizing i.e. black spot, flux burn, ash deposition, etc. Please reply this answer today I'm working in galvanizing.

A. Hi Ritesh. If you can please pick one of those 3+ defects, and give us a paragraph of detail about it, I think we can start helping you make progress.

But there are 1000-page books just on galvanizing surface defects, and consultants who spend their entire careers trying to cure such defects, so it just won't prove possible to summarize the general situation of everything that causes every galvanizing defects even in a long forum discussion running into months.

Knowledgable readers stop by when they stop by, so the "today" part isn't going to work out; so, if you seriously need help today, please immediately retain a galvanizing consultant. Best of luck with it!

A. Go to www.galvanizeit.org. You can get literature that will explain what is acceptable (flux, oxides...) and what is not acceptable (dross, bare spots...). The inspection manual is what you are looking for and also copies of ASTM Selected specifications for Hot dip Galvanizing.
