Hard anodizing of METAPOR micro-porous aluminum
We are trying to find a solution for hard anodizing of micro-porous air-permeable aluminum called METAPOR. This product is a combination of aluminum powder and epoxy binder and it is naturally porous. We would like to improve the surface hardness by using hard anodizing, while making sure that the material remains porous after the anodizing process. Some time ago, a company in Switzerland processed some of this METAPOR material using the "GSX-Hardanodizing" method and it was very successful. However, our recent trials with the "Sanford" method were unsuccessful.
Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

What kind of results do you get with standard sulfuric or chromic anodizing? What do you mean by 'unsuccessful' results?

Is there any information available on this topic that has shown successful results? By successful I mean being able to anodize the Metapor and still having the porosity where air can pass thru the surface.
thank you
