Removal of nickel plating from copper
What is the most effective way to remove old nickel plating (early
1900's) from copper?

Nickel can be removed from copper chemically, Lori. However, proprietary strippers from companies like Metalx [a finishing.com supporting advertiser] are best. If you are a consumer rather than a plating shop, be aware that most plating shops should be able to do this for you.
