-----Layman Needs Plating Guidance
Q. I'm not in finishing industry. However, I need info on PTFE, Titanium Nitride, and Diamond Black coatings for IC manufacturing equipment wear parts.
I am also looking for local supplier in Phoenix, AZ area (or somewhere in Southwest US at least) to work with.

A. PTFE can be applied by spraying, dipping in fluidized bed, etc; it can also be applied by co-deposition during electroless nickel plating, and that represents a very good wear surface.
Titanium nitride is actually a vacuum process, not plating, and SVC (www.svc.org) can probably help you.
Regarding diamond black, please see letter 582.
Of course the most traditional wear surface for most equipment parts is probably hard chrome plating. Good luck.
