Future/upcoming Cadmium regulations

I am researching laws/bills/executive orders/etc. that are either current or are being investigated and that impose a limit or a reduction schedule for Cadmium use. I am looking for domestic and EU regulations. Do the regs mandating hex chrome reduction in Europe include or reference Cd or other metal platings?

A. Hi, Gus.

In the U.S. you can look at the special medical monitoring, etc. rules for shops doing cadmium plating. In the EU, cadmium was banned (with exceptions) years ago; yes, cadmium is a RoHS listed material. Patiently search this site and I think you'll find some info.

A. Look at RoHS legislation, 2002/95/EC or from Jan 2013 2011/65/EU, Annex 2 and Annex 3, 8(a). REACH legislation for chemicals gives SVHC updated every 6 months.
