does the ROHS compliance is the only method to state that the material is non hazardous?or what are the merits of the product if it is ROHS compliance?

Absolutely not, Shambhu. In fact, RoHS concerns itself with only 6 materials whereas there are thousands of hazardous materials. If you want to claim that something is non-hazardous you must, as a minimum, make sure that it is not on any list of hazardous substances.
