Aluminium Chromatizing with yellow passivation

2006

Our customer has asked for Chromatizing with Yellow passivation of aluminium components used in Antenna systems. We have proposed Chemical Conversion coating with Alodine 1200.

What does Chromatizing with Yellow passivation mean?

Is it Chemical conversion coating or Type 1 anodizing with Chromic acid with Dichromate sealing?

The most important thing is that the components get the surface finishing that they require. Don't be afraid to ask the customer to clarify exactly what he wants and needs!

I would suspect that "chromatizing" means "chromating", just as phosphatizing means the same thing as phosphating, but it is very easy for words to be misspelled or to mean different things based on context.
