copper passivation

Hello, I'd like to know if it is possible to passivate copper powder. Thanks.

Yes, copper can be chromated. I've also seen it used in electropolishing lines wherein it was so passive that it didn't even conduct electricity. However, the surface area of powder is so high that the reactions can be much different (faster acting, explosive, dangerous) and you need to exercise extraordinary care that the reaction doesn't get away from you.

Dear Sir/ Mam

I want to know, how we can passivate copper plates and tubes in this condition that these materials are used in heat exchangers.

Best regards

Hi, Naser. I think you need to plate these components, possibly with electroless nickel, if you want any real corrosion resistance. Treatment with benzotriazole or chromate might give a little temporary protection, but then you have to think about possible toxicity.
