General description of Tin Plating process

1999

Dear Sir;

Can you direct me to a web page that gives a general description of the tin plating process? I am especially interested in immersion plating for parts and reel-to-reel plating of coils of copper tubing. Can you help?

Thanks,

David Hicks

I don't think the web is the place to start, Mr. Hicks. You'll learn a lot more, and much faster, from books. The way things are organized in most writers' minds, you are asking for info on three different subjects actually: tin chemistry, immersion plating, and reel-to-reel systems. I would suggest you get hold of the Metal Finishing Guidebook and the Electroplating Engineering Handbook [on AbeBooks or eBay or Amazon] , described in more detail on our "must-haves" booklist.
