-----What is the zinc plating process
2002
I want to know about the process of zinc plating CRS. I understand that there is a multitude of steps that include cleaning.
Thank you,
Doug

Whole books have been written just on the subject of zinc plating, so your question is very broad. But zinc plating is an electrolytically applied coating of zinc which is usually put on steel parts to provide cathodic corrosion protection. The surface must be clean and active before plating, which is accomplished with alkaline cleaners followed by acidic activation. After plating, the parts are usually chromated to discourage white corrosion products of zinc.
