How can I paint my wood burning stove

++++++

I am moving to my boyfriends house and he has a very dark living/dining room all the walls are made of beautiful wood. Of course the wood burning stove is steel and is black, is thier any way I could paint it and be a lighter color?

Light colored paints tend to discolor when exposed to high temperature for long periods of time, even if the paint is designed for that purpose. I would suggest investigating how much use the stove gets and what changing the color might do to the value of it, especially if it's an antique.
