"Metal Finishing" journal

Metal Finishing was founded in 1903, and their journal was one of the industry's most trusted monthlies for over a century.

Palmer Langdon (dec. 8/4/2002), a beloved industry icon, was the publisher for over 50 years from 1936 to 1988. Metal Finishing also published the Metal Finishing Guidebook annually.

Elsevier Science bought out Metal Finishing in 1988. It seems that as a commercial publication rather than an academic journal, Metal Finishing become an odd duck in their journal holdings, and they abruptly closed its offices and ceased publication of both the journal and the Guidebook in 2012.
