"HF - Hydrofluoric Acid"
Many experienced platers feel that HF is the most dangerous material in the shop because burns can be very painful, even deforming or life threatening, and it is reported that sometimes HF exhibits an anesthetic effect such that the victim doesn't even realize they have been burned until the damage is serious.

Never use HF anywhere unless trained!
If working with HF, consider double-gloving in addition to the regular safety protocols -- and don't consider using HF unless calcium gluconate antidote gel is immediately available.
