Ted Mooney's CV
Ted holds a BSME from New Jersey Institute of Technology, and is a retired P.E. registered in NJ, PA, and OH with more that 50 years experience in the metal finishing industry.
He served as a Design Engineer with H-VW-M / M&T Chemicals (now Atotech) for 7 years, as a Project Engineer developing wastewater treatment systems with Lancy Laboratories for 2+ years, and as Chief Engineer of the equipment division of Harshaw Chemical Co. (now Atotech) for 7 years. He learned the consulting business at Booz-Allen & Hamilton before forming Finishing Technology, where he designed dozens of plating, anodizing & finishing lines, and wastewater treatment systems, as well as offering general metal finishing consulting.
Ted has also assisted in many legal cases, written countless technical articles and textbook chapters, and made numerous presentations at technical society meetings. In 1989 he started the Finishing Technology Hotline electronic BBS, moved it to the internet in 2004 as the world's first metal finishing website, and renamed it Finishing.com in 1995.
Travel and on-site work no longer hold allure for Ted, but he remains highly active as curator of finishing.com; there are few people in the world with his broad knowledge of all aspects of metal finishing.
