Class of 1976 Guestbook

Nov 5, 2002

Our Lady of Lost Souls...I mean Our Lady of All Souls School. I didn't make the all class reunion in the 90's, but I still have fond memories of that time.

I remember "Hot Dog Day", "Spaghetti Day", the smell of mimeograph paper, that gasoline/kerosene spray that they used to spray on the blackboards to clean them, and and of course that lung-choking chalk. The only bright part of my day was when I glanced over at Theresa Decker. She was a looker. I said, "LOOKER", not what you thought. Of course she never gave me a second glance, or a first glance for that matter. I was convinced that Sister Ann was the Anti-Christ, and could only be destroyed with the Seven Knives of Megedo plunged directly into her heart, if you could find it. Although Mrs. McGrath was the best. She was the angel in a purgatory of nuns. I do remember that we had to kneel for 3 hours once because the nuns were mad at us for not memorizing our prayers. I guess it was that whole celebacy thing. And rememb! er, it's Sister Xavier, not, "Eggs " Zavier. "No eggs for sale."

My sister Elaine and my brother Albert graduated from OLAS also. Yeah, their also screwed up and don't trust nuns or priests either. Anyway, I graduated with the knowledge that never again would I have to endure such hell on earth, that is, not until I attended Satan Hell, I mean Seton Hall Prepatory School. After spending four years in an all boys school, I got into computers, and have been in it ever since.

Just found the OLAS website. Hello back to Ross Turner and anyone else from that time. Only person I have talked to since graduating in 1977 is Gregory Riley. I moved from East Orange in 1977 and have only been back a few times since then. I've been in the Air Force since 1985 and have been all over, currently stationed in California now. My brother Thomas and three sisters Kathleen, Elizabeth (Bette) and Barbara (Bunny) also went to OLAS in the 1955-1968 time frame. Hope all my classmates are doing well. Drop me an e-mail if you have time.
