Death of James I. Murray, Class of 1949

This is to belatedly report the passing of Jim Murray of New Egypt, NJ on Thursday, 16 July 2003. Jim was a classmate and a solid guy. He is survived by the former Carol Appell with whom he was graduated from Clifford J. Scott High School in 1953. He and his wife were active on the CJS 50th reunion committee, an event to be held on Columbus Day weekend in Eatontown, NJ this fall.

Jim was a Marine Corps veteran, and served in Korea. He leaves a daughter, Jacqueline Theile of New Egypt; two sons John Murray of Oregon, and Brian Murray of New Egypt; a brother Terrance of Spring Lake Heights; two sisters, Cathleen Brady of Spring Lake Heights, and Patricia Thomas of Honolulu, Hawaii; and three grandchildren.

Jim was buried in the Brg. Gen. W. Doyle Vetrans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ.

Jim will not be forgotten by his friends and former classmates. He was a practical and selfless guy who once saved a child from drowning without thought of his personal safety.

To Jim and all the deceased menbers of the Class of 1949:

"Requiescant in pace."
