How to do Copper etching from drawing

Hello:

I am an Independent Information Professional and a client has been asked to provide a drawing of a colleague which will be made into an etched copper plaque for wall display.

In order to carry this out, he needs to know the criteria to observe so that the etching process will be successful.

For example, how fine can the lines be to create tone assuming it is photoetched? Which drawing techniques are most effective, e.g. hatching, dots, etc.

Thank you.

Zacryl has info on the process, probably best to find a artist - printmaker to do it for you.

Sorry! Finishing.com is temporarily Read-Only.
Ted Mooney is retiring but I have several offers to take it over.
We're working hard to make sure we find it the best new home.
