Tin/lead plating connector repair by brush plating

2001

Is there a process to repair tin/lead over nickel plating on miniature connectors? It is not practical to replace the connector itself.

Hello Vince,

After looking at your pictures I would recommend you have the worn areas brush plated. Brush electroplating can selectively replate the worn areas with tin-lead. Brush electroplating can be performed on small areas such as this with small hand held electrodes. This reduces the need for extensive masking.
