Defoamer Composition

I want to know composition of "Silicone Free Defoamer".

Wouldn't we all like to know the composition for silicone free defoamers? You could try contacting BYK Chemie, they may or may not tell you what exactly is in it, but they will sell it to you for sure.

Hi,

The composition of defoamers depends on the type of products it is being used. But in a very general way it can be summarised as;

1. one or more hydrophobic compounds.
2. Mineral oil - acts as a carrier for the hydrophobic compounds.
3 Surface active dispersing agents/emulsifiers.

There could be silicones. Silicones however, can cause negative side effect such as crater building and adhesion problems.
