CASS TEST STANDARDS FOR FUNCTIONAL CHROMIUM PLATING

(2001)

What is International/Japanese CASS TEST standards for functional Hard Chrome Plating of 30 microns?

CASS testing should be performed to ASTM B368 [link by ed. to spec at TechStreet]. This specification covers the operation of the test and does not provide a basis for interpreting the data. I do not know if there is an international spec for how long 30 microns of hard chrome should last. Do you have any specific requirements from your customer? I am in the automotive industry, and our customers create specifications that let us know how long our parts need to last in corrosion testing.
