Welding Hi Solidur

Anyone have familiarity with welding polypropylene sheets(specifically, Poly Hi Solidur, the slippery stuff)? I need to join them end to end as well as 90Ïý.

Tom,

For welding PP sheets (or PVC or Pe, for that matter) end to end, the best and least expensive method is to find some local fabricator who has sheet fusion machines. And if you can't do that, contact WEGENER who sell this machinery and they could probably tell you of the nearest fabricator.

As far as 90° bends are concerned, said fabricator would be easily able to do that, too.

For welding them at 90°, ah, you'll need someone with some experience. If possible, fuse on some extra material and bend as that will have less stresses than welding and cost far less, too. Fusion welds are around l00% (if done well!)

There are oodles of suppliers of plastic welding equipment on the net, my preference is LARAMY mainly because they have a superlative booklet on How To Do It (correctly!). See 5d 8925 which might give you some hints.

Cheers !
