Black Stained Zinc

I would like to know, if I use an agent like Anitmony Trichloride on zinc to create a black look on the zinc, will the metal be hazardous to touch on a daily basis? Will there be any effect on the zinc after its been treated. I will be making bird house roofs with the black stained zinc and I would like to know if this will be hazardous?

Wouldn't it be easier to get a zinc-iron black plating? It is pretty easy to get a good black color if you go to a zinc-iron plating.

By the way, you aren't doing this at home, are you?

Sorry! Finishing.com is temporarily Read-Only.
Ted Mooney is retiring but I have several offers to take it over.
We're working hard to make sure we find it the best new home.
