Stainless Steel Protection

Is there a way to conserve stainless steel's shine/aspect and render it more corrosion resistant (phosphatizing, etc)?

Yes. Electropolishing. Of course, this makes it more 'corrosion resistant' to certain things, some times. It doesn't mean you will make it survive immersion in hydrochloric acid.
