Masking During the Anodizing Process.

Although we are chromating the parts prior to masking we are still getting some leakage under the paint or tape-especially on the threaded area. Also do you remove the chromate prior to the anodizing bath-(problem with 2011 and dulling up the surface during the etching process to remove the chromate). Any advice on specific products, application methods, etc. would be appreciated.

Dear Tim,

I have had good success with two products. One is a thick orange lacquer and the other is a thin orange/red color. Each work with the right application. Try Tolber Division, Hope, AR.
