Satin Finish Over Chrome Plate

Is there an "easy" way to obtain a satin finish on a chrome plated part? Would prefer a chrome plating post-treatment..

George,

Use a nickel solution without brightener and chrome plate over the nickel deposit.

A nickel without brighteners is not what one calls "satin". For satin deposit you need some special additives in the plating solution.

Plating on chrome, I don't think so!

There is a nickel plating process call Pearl Bright which produces a very even satin type of finish.

You then need to chrome plate over the Pearl bright.

The product is made by Enthone

Good Luck

You see Ted, I am improving with time... :)

I did not mention that pearl bright is manufactured by Enthone as I am connected to them. It took some one from Australia to mention it.

Thanks Sara.

But if you improved just a tiny itsy bitsy bit more, Enthone would be a supporting advertiser and the page could include an ad for the product and a link to info about it :-)
