A. It all depends on what kind of project you are wanting the CAD plating on. There are a lot of CAD vendors.
I do aircraft landing gear and propellers.
CAD Plating Team Lead - Grand Junction, Colorado
Object: The object of these treatments is to harden parts made of stainless steel M-00420. preserve the scale free finish and eliminate carbonized quench oil residue. Min hardness of Rockwell C-45 to C-48.
Treatment: Heat the parts to 1800 to 1850 °F, and hold until thoroughly saturated.
Quench in oil.
All parts shall be suitably cleaned to remove quench oil
Draw at temperatures below, heating until saturated and holding for 1 hour:
Spec # Approx. Draw Temp, deg F
PH-00420-021 600
PH-00420-022 400
Cool in air at room temperature
Hardness after treatment on the parts shall have Rockwell hardness as below:
Spec # Rockwell "C" Hardness
PH-00420-021 45-50
PH-00420-022 48-52
