A. Hi Dean.
Obviously the “®” tells us that this is a proprietary name, not a description of a generic process. If any reader can tell us either who the manufacturer is, or generically what general type of finish it is, please do.
We can discuss “1000 hour salt spray” or anything you wish about generic finishes if you find out generally what it is; but we the good or bad of a proprietary finish here ( huh? why?) — we’ve learned that lesson 🙂

Thank you Ted, I know a shot in the dark. It is proprietary finish from “New Fasteners Are Here” company. I suspect the name Black Luster is proprietary, however, the finish process isn’t and may be a common finish.
