Mineral spirits to clean rancid oil off my teak dining table?

Q. I used rancid teak oil on my dining room table. It now smells terrible. I have read to clean it with mineral spirits ⇦ on eBay or Amazon [affil link] . Has anyone tried this? And how to do it?
