Copper plating on Inconel

Q. Does anyone have an opinion relating to Copper plating on Inconel Ni based material?
We are doing Copper coating on this material in continuous process for wire. Unlike Stainless steel, the bonding of copper and Inconel material is very weak and it frequently delaminates when we bend the wire.
Our pickling line is using alkaline, and Nickel strike is Wood's ⇦ huh? type (Ni chloride and HCl).
