Dark Reddish Spots when Bronze Casting

May 10, 2022

Q. Hello, I can't get rid of nasty dark Reddish spots. I'm an amateur but please does anyone know what they are and how to maintain a clean soft skin (cleaning, cold cast etc...). Thank you so much.

"Metals and Corrosion: A Handbook for the Conservation professional"

(affil link)

Metals and Corrosion: A handbook for the Conservation Professional is very good book (chapter on copper and copper alloys). Low quality alloy or some substance incompatible with tin may be source of problems (salt, muriatic acid etc.).

French edition: Métaux et corrosion - Un manuel pour le professionnel de la conservation. Hope it helps and good luck!

Ted Mooney is retiring but I have several offers to take it over.
We're working hard to make sure we find it the best new home.
