-----Is nickel plate cast-iron safe to cook with?
Q. Hi, my boyfriend's aunt left him some really cool nickel plated cast iron (1940's) made by Griswold). We don't know if it's safe to use, and he is thinking he should find a way to strip the inside of the pans if it's questionable. Do you have any insight?

A. Hi Ashley. Griswold still sells nickel plated cast iron cookware and it's quite expensive. I don't think it poses any danger, while it delivers the advantages of cast iron with reduced maintenance.
