Need Decorative Nickel Plating for Microphone Bodies

Q. Hello,
I am the design engineer for an Audio company. We are an American studio recording microphone manufacturer. We are in need of some decorative nickel plating for a production run of one of our models. We have 100 units in this run. Each unit is comprised of an aluminum end bell, and aluminum body tube and a brass head basket which is multiple parts brazed together, The brazing solder does have lead in it. The body is 60 mm in diameter and the whole system is 250 mm tall. We require the parts to be lightly blasted before plating. I have a plating target sample that I can provide with the raw parts. I'm happy to talk about target pricing too.

Ed. note: This RFQ is outdated, but technical replies are welcome, and readers are encouraged to post their own RFQs. But no public commercial suggestions please ( huh? why?).

? Dave,

The microphone material is plastic or metal?
If it is plastic then need POP (plating on plastic) process, and metal different process to apply.

A. Hi Popat. Dave has said or at least implied that it's aluminum & brass; we have now put that in boldtext so it's easier to notice on a quick read.

His RFQ has been on line for more than two weeks, so it is no longer restricted to supporting advertisers, but is now open to all if you want to offer your services to him.

Luck & Regards,
