-----Anodized aluminum is inadvertently scrubbing N2O
Q. We have recently anodized a gas analyzer housing for a customer. The housing is made of 7075 and is type II anodized black. After the part was anodized, the customer found that the housing would scrub the gas (N2O) therefore the sensor was unable to detect the gas. The customer does not have the same problem with another housing anodized previously. What factors may have caused the anodized housing to become a gas scrubber?
