Why is chemical conversion coating wiping off with Acetone?

Q. We do Cadmium plating and at the end of the process after it has been chromated (Iridite 8P) the chromate is wiping off with Acetone. I was wondering if this was an issue with the chromate or the Cadmium bath. This is happening on 4130 and 4340 material parts mainly. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
