Temperature limit for cadmium plated aluminum parts?

Q. We make aluminum parts and must put ink stamp part number on them. At what temperature will the cadmium plating start to break down? I had found on youtube the highest would be 225 °F for no more than an hour. In the test of parts anything higher also discolors the plating. Is this best procedure?

A. You should be wary of affecting the temper of the aluminum, but if you are only concerned about the cadmium, I know that HE bakes are done at much higher than the temperature you are talking about, so I would think the cadmium would not be adversely affected in the 200 °F area.
