-----Gold tone on 50 year old pocket watch case
Q. Hi. I have an old pocket watch - @50 years old - which has a gold tone finish which is also possibly varnished on top of the colour to give a shiny finish. This is very delicate in that it came of using jewellers rouge. As this is a cheap watch I doubt the finish was gold. What were the finishing techniques used to get the gold tone? Thanks for your help
