Phosphatizing of cast iron sprockets

Q. Dear Sir, We use cast iron gears on our machines. We were earlier painting the base circle and not doing any treatment on the pitch which obviously led to rusting. We have recently tried phosphating. Sprocket dia. is about 425 mm and thickness is 31 mm (duplex sprocket). We also grind the depressed edges before getting phosphate quoting. Need expert opinion on whether the process being followed is correct and need suggestions on cleaning and percentage phosphatising.
