-----How to determine the silver content in a Chinese Work of Art
Q. I have three Chinese figurines called "Fuk Luk Sau". Each of these figurines are purportedly silver plated cast iron weighing at least 33 kg each. They are aged over 100 years.
I would like to ask : is there a way to determine the silver content of each figurine and quality of these figurines?

Hi Tet. They are quite attractive and a nice addition to anyone's home. Thanks for sharing the photo and story.
But whether they were cast last week or more than a hundred years ago probably can't be determined from photos. Their silver content is rather inconsequential because their value is in their beauty and history, not in the intrinsic value of scrap metal. This is a metal finishing site and, sorry, we cannot print anyone's attempts at valuation -- although nobody has ever offered one anyway 🙂
Good luck.
