Can IPG be done on zinc alloy parts?

Q. We are a company which offers zinc alloy watches and costume jewellery. We have one line where the durability expectations are higher and for that we are using IPG. That said, we have conflicting information as to whether IPG can even be used on zinc alloy. Can anyone settle this question for us? Many thanks.
