How to gold plate rough stone surface

Q. Hello sir.

I am trying to make a natural stone pendant, but natural stone slices have irregular surfaces and it is very difficult to do gold or silver edging.
Is it possible to use any inexpensive metal powder for fixing on edges before gold edging?
Please advice me if you have any solutions.
I hope you help me.
