Chemical Earthing System / Earthing Electrodes

Q. Hello,

Can anyone explain to me about chemical earthing rods (earthing electrodes)?
This electrode concept was majorly seen in ELECRAMA 2016 [elecrama.com], the just-conducted exhibition in Bangalore India.

It says it has more advantages over the conventional type of copper bonded earthing rods. Is it so? Then what is the exact concept behind it? Is this the transformation in earthing systems?

Thanks & Regards

A. Hi Abhiraj. It's difficult to say early on whether a new technology will be transformative, or be too much hassle and quickly fade away, or become just another run of the mill competitive technology. And I don't have the experience in that industry to render opinions on its future.

But the basic idea is that the chemical earthing rods draw moisture out of the air, which condenses and runs down the rod, generating a conductive electrolyte which, as it seeps into the ground, makes conductive paths or "roots" which improve its ability to truly ground a system, especially by offering low impedance to high frequency noise.
