Saxophone key nickel plating

Q. I want to get some (about 23) saxophone keys re-plated. They are made of brass and are nickel plated, but some of the plating has worn off, slightly pitted (not deep).
How long would it take me to do this myself if I buy a do it yourself nickel plating kit?

Also would chrome plating the nickel plated keys be any cheaper?
