Type III, Class 2, Black Anodize of 2195 Aluminum Alloy - Tips/Techniques?

April 30, 2013

Q. I have a customer who desires us to Type III anodize 2195 aluminum alloy test panels. Our shop does lots of 2024, 6061, and 7075 alloy, and even does a rare 2219 alloy part, but we have never done 2195 before. Does anyone have any practical experience on running this alloy and are there any "must do", "should do" things we need to know before running it? Thanks.

Sorry! Finishing.com is temporarily Read-Only.
Ted Mooney is retiring but I have several offers to take it over.
We're working hard to make sure we find it the best new home.
