Leaching gold

Q. I'm trying to leach the gold out of an aircraft engine stater without harming the stater's blades and metal and without using ZN.
so far with not much of a success.
please advise.

I don't know whether Oz is talking about stators or starters, and whether he wants to avoid zinc or zirconium nitride, or how it's possible to leach any metal out of an alloy without harming it. So if we can tell him that there's no gold there anyway, I like that answer :-)
