Good Ceramic Coating for 300M steel
Q. hello,
I have to apply a ceramic coating on a part of 300M. after the coating, the part will be heat treated (heating at 875 °C and quenching in oil). I do not know yet what type of coating should I choose. If you have any idea about it, I will be grateful.
best regards,

A. Why do you want to heat treat after ceramic coating, especially at that high a temperature? It would be much easier to heat treat, remove the heat treat scale, then ceramic coat. Depending on the application, you can apply the ceramic coating by sol gel, plasma spray, HVOF, PVD, et al.
